Scholarship Opportunity: Al Ghurair STEM Scholars Program

The Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education, which is a newly launched education Foundation based in Dubai, aiming to support high-achieving underserved Arab youth with access to education opportunities. The Al Ghurair STEM Scholars program has already been able to support 170 aspiring students with scholarship opportunities to pursue their Bachelor or Master’s degree in the Region this year.

Scholarships will cover financial support towards full or partial cost of your education for the duration required to complete your specific degree at a full load of credits/semester, essential university fees (registration, activity fee, lab use, etc), shared housing, on-campus, actual cost of books, travel expenses to country of study, if you are not residing in city or country of study, student visa, university health insurance plan and cost of living allowance.

Outside the Arab World:

  • Polytechnique Montreal, Canada
  • Arizona State University (ASU), USA
  • Minerva Schools at KGI, USA
  •  Koç University (KU), Turkey

Applicant requirements: 

  • Be an Arab citizen from an underserved background who does not have another citizenship
  • Be between 15 and 30-years-old
  • Have earned no less than 85% in high school or no less than a 3.0 at university
  • Be proficient in English to standards acceptable by top universities
  • Be able and willing to provide proof of your financial need
  • Be admitted to one of our partner universities for an undergraduate or graduate degree in a STEM-related program
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have lived in the Arab World for at least 12 years of their life

Required documents:

  • Personal documentation (family book, passport copy, national ID, residency etc.)
  • Proof of academic achievement (grades transcripts, TOEFL/IELTS transcripts, etc.)
  • Proof of financial status (recent salary statements, bank statements, home lease, ownership contracts, tuition invoices of siblings and other family members, etc.)
